Robert Thomas Pattinson sa narodil 13.5.1986 v Londýne.Z herectvom začal až v teen rokoch v Barnes Theater Company v Londýne.Zahrál si v hre Macbeth v Old Sorting Office Arts Centre a tiež skúšal modeling.V roku 2004 dostal malú rolu vo filme The Ring of the Nibelungs a ešte sa objavil vo filme Jarmark marnosti s herečkou Reese Witherspoon a tiež hral vo filme The Woman Before in May (2005).A tak tiež v roku 2005 bol vybraný aby si zahral rolu čarodejníka v Harry Potter.A na koniec v roku 2008 si zahral rolu neodolatelného upíra Edwarda Cullena vo filme Twilight/Súmrak.
